Driving  from Millinocket, while shorter overall in terms of time is longer on  dirt roads. A map for this route is not displayed here. We recommend  that you purchase 'The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer', about $20, available  at most convenience stores, and follow it closely with the above  directions. All distances are +- .5 mile.  Reconsider driving in from  Ashland, that is the route we use and our guides use also.

Make  sure you have a good spare tire before heading into the woods.  A can  of Fix-a-Flat is a good idea also.  Your cell phone will not work on the  logging roads.    Please try not to arrive at noon while lunch is being  served.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US THAT YOU PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT CAMP BEFORE DARK, preferably by 5:00.  After dark it is very easy to miss turns, we won't know where to start looking for you, and we will probably be asleep!
